ABOUT THE DEAN Prof. Chukwuebuka Emmanuel Umeyor is a full Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology,
Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nigeria.
He holds Bachelor of Pharmacy, Master of Pharmacy, and PhD in Physical
Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu
State, Nigeria. He is the Sub-Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences,
Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nigeria. He is currently on Sabbatical leave
at Olivia University, Bujumbura, Burundi where he serves as the Dean of the
Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University. He is a recipient of
AGNES Junior Researcher Grant supported by the German Ministry of Education and
Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. He also received the International
Foundation for Science (IFS) and Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical
Weapon (OPCW) grant. He had his Postdoctoral Fellowship experience at Prof.
Vandana Patravale’s Lab, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology,
Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, India sponsored by the Department of
Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, The World Academy of Science (TWAS),
Trieste Italy and the UNESCO. He has several publications in reputable
peer-reviewed local and international journals. He has vast experience in
conventional and nanotechnology-based drug delivery including the development
of lipid and polymer-based drug and gene delivery systems, natural products
formulation, and development of raw materials, for addressing challenges in
tropical medicine, local manufacturing, global health, and hygiene. |
